2 Star Hotel is an eclectic band with a rock drive and European and American folk melodies. Jocelyn is a writer whose songs tell stories to mend her always breaking heart. Antoine, a physicist from Brittany, France, plays the music of the Menhirs on guitar, accordion, and piano; at times haunting, at other’s urgent, with an ease and effortlessness that convinces the listener that time does not exist. David, an architect who plays bass, fills their songs with warmth, mystery, and expression, and leaves everyone feeling like they just baked cookies. And bridge engineer Martijn on drums ever-evolves from his Dutch, lowland beginnings, playing with an artful, firm, and adaptive style that gives 2 Star Hotel not only its foundation, but its reason and place in the world.
